Mihalis Safras is an award-winning DJ, producer and owner of the renowned record label Material. Fresh from his residency at Sankeys Ibiza for Do Not Sleep Mihalis Safras will be showcasing his unique sound and style as he headlines our main room after none other than Jey Kurmis.
Jey Kurmis is a household name within the world of house and techno, with almost a decade in the industry and 2 years of global success under his belt the Leeds based DJ/Producer consistently brings the heat. With 6 releases on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations label, and various other releases on labels such as Moon Harbour, Kaluki and Lost Records his individual production style has very much been resonating throughout the underground music scene for a sometime.
Over the past 12 months Alex Djukic has firmly completed his transition from bedroom DJ and afterparty headliner to an extremely exciting club DJ. His backlog of rolling house grooves is seemingly endless as he’s shown with breakthrough gigs at R-Tribe, and Ill Behaviour including an all-night-long set. Fresh from gigs in his home city of Stoke supporting DJ’s such as The Mistaa and GW Harrison, Alex will make his Digital Newcastle debut alongside fellow resident Alex Stoneham.
Alex Stoneham is a house DJ from London and since residing in the city has taken up a residency at Ill Behaviour and performed at Digital Newcastle on numerous occasions. Taking huge inspiration from DJ’s such as Josh Butler and from labels including Solid Grooves and Saura his style is a recipe of punchy kicks and dub style baselines.
Matthew Fenton has become an increasingly familiar face in DJ booths across Newcastle over the past two years. Working his way up from room 2 warm up sets at Ill Behaviour and onto residencies at Octave Newcastle, Troupe, Continuous Groove and guest gigs at Motion Newcastle, Future Funk and Syndikat. As well as playing alongside some of the biggest names in the industry including Solardo, Amine Edge & Dance, Jacky, WADE, Dennis Cruz and Crazy P. His musical taste takes inspiration from the weird and wonderful world of house music sub-genres, with heavy tribal percussions, trippy electro synths and infectious hip hop samples all being staples within his record collection. Matthew will be closing proceedings on the 21st September and we expect nothing less than a real melon twisting journey through sound.
